Heartbeats for Life, located in Newark Ohio, is the local branch of the larger Organization of Heartbeat, International. From their website, their “vision is a world where every new life is welcomed and children are nurtured within strong families, according to God’s Plan, so that abortion is unthinkable.” “Heartbeat International’s mission is to Reach and Rescue as many lives as possible, around the world, through an effective network of life-affirming pregnancy help, to Renew communities for LIFE.”

On January 13, 2025, Council #11665 – Fr. Bill Johnson presented $1616.07 (combination of $341.07 in goods and $1275 in checks) in support of Heartbeats For Life and their life-affirming pregnancy help! The funds came from a combination of a breakfast fundraiser, donated cash, and donated items. Note: We will be applying for a $300 Grant for ASAP through Supreme using the On-line Grant Application on Supreme’s website.

The fundraiser was Breakfast with St. Nicholas. It was well attended by parishioners of St. Francis de Sales, serving 199 attendees! St. Nicholas was available for photo ops (and in some cases apparently to scare the kids!). After expenses, the net proceeds were very close to $500! Altogether, 19 brother Knights and 127 man-hours!

In addition to that fundraiser, brother Knight Jerry Deck built an amazing changing table with baskets (which he filled with multiple newborn needs). The value of the changing table and items donated was close to $300. On top of that, 13 brother Knights donated an additional $775 in cash!
