Family of the Month for Fr. Bill Johnson #11665 for December 2025 goes to the Sardini family. Stephen and Kathryn are both cradle Catholics. They have been married 36 years and have one son, Stephen Jr.

Stephen and Kathryn joined St. Francis de Sales in 1997 and have since become heavily involved in and significant so many aspects of our parish community! They are both well known for their welcoming constant smiles that spread joy year-round!

Stephen has served as an usher/porter since 2016, primarily during the Sunday 11AM Masses. He always greets people with a welcoming smile as he helps them find a seat. And for those that need it, he provides hearing assistance! As Porter, Stephen has responsibility for locking/unlocking up the church surrounding Masses in accordance with Diocesan policy. Stephen has also been known to provide parishioners with transportation to services and even to doctor appointments – and visited those hospitalized! Outside of church, Stephen is an Amateur Radio Operator – a member of the Newark Amateur Radio Association (NARA). He supports events such as Special Olympics, Pelotonia, and The River Roundup by doing communications. Stephen shares that talent with the youth introducing them to Amateur Radio.

Kathryn has served in the office in multiple roles since 2017. Initially Kathryn served as a volunteer, but has since advanced to become the Financial Assistant! Kathryn is an avid photographer. She puts that to great use as she zips around to MANY parish functions capturing the spirit of our events, and making them available on FaceBook! Because of this, Kathryn is affectionately known as “the camera lady”!
