November 2025 Family of the Month

Family of the Month for Fr. Bill Johnson #11665 for September 2025 goes to the Birgeneau family. Mike and Dawn are both cradle Catholics. They have been married 29 yrs and have two adult children.

Mike and Dawn joined St. Francis de Sales in 2021, and have already become heavily involved in and significant contributors to our community in many ways!

Mike and Dawn have participated in multiple parish programs for their development. Some the more impactful programs for them have been the Gifting and Discernment workshop and Fr. Mike Gentry’s leading of both the Bible Timeline and Faith Formation courses. They have also contributed together with their time, talent, and treasure as Eucharistic Ministers for Arlington Care Center and the Golf Cart Ministry!

Mike is also an amazing mentor to many men that are lost and searching. This is very apparent through his involvement with the St. Joseph’s Society. Many of the men that participate in that wonderful ministry are there as a direct result of Mike’s mentoring. Mike is fearless in his evangelization of those men – and has been known to visit men in prison if it will help them out! Mike joined the Knights of Columbus in May 2024 and has proven to be an invaluable member of the council.

Dawn has also been individually very involved, serving as an Extraordinary Eucharist Minister at Mass as well as Feeding of the Fathers and serving on the Funeral Service Community Team. As if that’s not enough, Dawn participated in The Rescue Project, Walking With Purpose, prays the Rosary daily, hosts a Bible Study in her home, and is a regular at Adoration!

Not falling far from the tree is their son Ryan! Ryan joined the Knights of Columbus at the same time as Mike and has already taken on the role of Lecturer, which challenges him to dig deeper into his faith. Ryan’s faith is very visible in the way he approaches all people he meets. And that faith is fed through Daily Rosary plus multiple other aesthetics he developed in part through participation in St. Joseph’s Society.
