Brother Knights,

Every year, our council solicits names of students worthy of receiving a scholarship for assistance with the costs associated with their attendance at our parish’s wonderful school, SFDS. As in the past, we will be awarding $1000. Tuition can be a significant burden on families, so this scholarship will make a real difference for our student and their family! We need to make our selection by July 20th in order to present the award following the 8/10 8:30AM mass. Please look through the following criteria and send your thoughts back to Dave Shallenberger (daveshallenberger@gmail,com, 740-404-4313) by then. Dave will turn in all nominations to a committee to make a consensus selection. Feel free to call or text Dave directly with questions if you’d prefer that rather than an email exchange.

Remember, it is very important you complete as much of the following info as possible to build a good basis for awarding of the scholarship!

Criteria

• Enrolled in SDFS Elementary for the coming year
• Previous student of SFDS Elementary in good standing
• Child/grandchild (includes adopted) of member of KofC in good standing

Considerations

• Activity within School (Academics, Athletics, Clubs, …)
• Activity within Church (Serves at masses, …)
• Activity within Family (Helps with siblings, Chores, …)
• Activity within Community (Volunteers with…, In-school Activities, …)
• Ambitions (Early goals, …)
• Financial Need (Other siblings in Catholic Education, …)
• Other (Any other information the submitter believes to be relevant)
